1/1/2002 - 2nd day with Anna Anna is making progress by
the minutes. We started first to teach her how to hold her bottle. By
yesterday afternoon, she finally did it. We were so happy for her. We
saw her took her first step steadily by herself today in the department
store while we were shopping for her cloth. She finally stopped eating
and started to offer food to us. She made her first sound, which sounded
like she was calling Auntie. Occasionally, she would call Mama and Dada,
but we don’t think she makes any connection with us yet. We taught her
how to hold a toy telephone over her eye and say hello in Chinese (wai!).
After playing kisses with her, she finally got the concept of offering
kisses when you ask her to do so. It was so exciting for all of us. She
knows that too. She smiles a lot and easily now. She was not interested in any
of the equipment in the play ground. As matter of fact, we found out
that she is a very quiet baby and content playing small toys all by
herself. She can play with one thing for a long time. One of babies from our group seemed very sick so our guide took her to the doctor. It turned out that the baby had bad ear infection. Since we had asked about seeing a doctor if Anna is not completely getting better on her horsy breathing, our guide brought the doctor in the hotel. It turned out that there are a few babies including Anna and the other Huainan baby have brochatis. We started antibiotics for Anna and hope she will recover soon. |
